Edward Butler, CPCU

Ed graduated from the University of Iowa in 1969 with a degree in Economics. He earned the professional designation Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) in 1973, and was president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Iowa in 2003–2004. Ed has been an independent agent since 1968 and has written all types of policies including personal, business, and specialty. He is very active in his community, including with his church, the YMCA, Hospice, and Rotary. Ed is a JCI Senator and a Paul Harris Fellow. He was chosen as the Outstanding Young Agent in Iowa in 1978 by the Independent Insurance Agents of Iowa. He has also been a leader in Insurance Agency Automation. Ed currently lives in Oskaloosa, Iowa with his wife, Dorothy and has two adult daughters, Lisa and Amy who is married to Lee Campbell, and two granddaughters.

Steven R. Brown, CPCU

Steve graduated from the University of Iowa in 1968 with a degree in Finance & Insurance. After serving in the U.S. Army Signal Corps Steve joined his father in the insurance agency in 1972. He earned the professional designation Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) in 1977, and was chosen as the Young Agent of the Year in 1977 by the Independent Insurance Agents of Iowa. He is currently chairman of the Education committee for the Independent Insurance Agents of Iowa. Steve is a pilot. He is active in church and civic affairs, including chairman of the Oskaloosa Airport Commission and secretary of the Oskaloosa Sunrise Kiwanis Club. Steve and his wife, Cyndi, have a daughter, Becky, and a son, Jeff.

Angela Stanley Angela Stanley, Personal Lines Manager

Angela is the Personal Lines manager. She helps people with home, auto, boat and umbrella insurance. She is licensed in life and health insurance, personal lines and commercial lines insurance. She is married to Craig Stanley and has one son.

Merri Chris Merri Chris Hawker, Commercial Customer Service

Merri Chris joined the Agency in 1995 and is our Commercial Lines Customer Service Representative. In addition to being a licensed Insurance Agent she assists Ed and Steve handling business accounts. She is married to Lee Hawker and has three children and 3 grandchildren.

Lisa Alderson Lisa Alderson, Aviation Insurance Manager

Lisa is in charge of the aviation department for Butler-Brown Insurance. She is a licensed insurance agent. She is married to Darrin and has a daughter Rachel.

Katrina Thompson, Accounting and Computer Operations Manager

Katrina is a licensed insurance agent. She is a graduate of the University of Iowa and passed her CPA exam in 2000. She is married to Ty and has one stepson. She is Treasurer of Relay for Life and Mahaska County Humane Society.

Amanda Amanda Mitrisin, Claims Assistant
Amanda assists customers with claims. She graduated from William Penn University with a degree in Elementary Education. She enjoys spending time with family and friends.
